Sometimes we just can't figure out figured wood. Just when we think we've seen it all, and recognize the familiar characteristic flame or wave or feather, we come across something so different and unique we just have to wonder, "...... now where did THAT come from???" This amazing selection certainly falls into the category of strange and unusual. More importantly, it falls into the category of
SPECTACULAR HORIZON wood!!!

Check out this crazy wood… definitely something you don’t see everyday. It is not typical figure, but more of a color anomaly. The grain is also very interesting in this set. The log had some defects which had to be worked around in the mill. The result is some nice, clean lumber. Any defects remaining have received measurement reductions. Some sapwood shows in this selection. We didn't want to steam the wood and risk the chance of washing out these neat color patterns, so the sapwood is still white and bright. Might provide some neat contrast in your project, or else flip the piece over and use the mostly brown face. Looks great. |
