A special selection from Horizon's "FALLEN TREES" collection
8/4 American Black Cherry
Set # 190881
Virtually 100% CLEAR and perfect RED cherry color!
Horizon has taken care to seperate the logs we aquire due to the tree being felled by an act of nature: perhaps the tree has worked through its natural life cycle and succumbed by reaching its maturational end, perhaps it was felled as a result of strong winds blowing over unstable ground, perhaps it was related to the effects of insects. We refer to these trees as our "Fallen Trees" collection and we give them the respect they are due. Interestingly, we have found some unique charcteristics in this collection, often the wood is more stable having gone through a natural sort of moderation stage. This is particularly true in the trees that died while standing on the stump. For more information check out the Fallen Trees page on the Horizon site.
This special log is 100% squared edged. There are several wide pieces, sequentially sawn, containing that spectacular cherry cathedral crown. The wider selections are accompanied by the quarter/rift sawn pieces. All are of the same beautiful deep cherry color, all very homogenized in character. This is an extra special collection!!
Total Board Feet 252.1 - all pieces are 8/4 thickness

Take a look below at the character of this wood. Unfortunately the photos simply do not do this sort of selection justice. It is even more special in real life!!
