Special Notes: |
Nice set of curly soft maple. Pieces 3, 4, 5, and 9 all have width reductions due to pith in flitches 5 and 9, and some defect in the center of pieces 3 and 4. The material was placed directly in the dry kiln after sawing resulting in nice white color. There is some heartwood included in the central pieces which has not been measured out. The heartwood, which is a little darker than the sapwood, can be seen in the photos.Overall a very nice sequencially sawn set of Curly Maple with some strong figure. Wood has been moistened with alcohol to bring out the figure. |
